[attr="class","dropfrumbodytxt"]PERSONALITY:
Zander is as bright as sunshine and warm as a hearth fire. From his youthful days to now, he maintains a very laid-back, easygoing appearance. He has a very durable temper, almost never getting angry or enraged by anything. While the Venatores still have some amount of prejudice, namely towards werewolves, he maintains an “ask questions first, shoot later” perspective. His incredible sense of humor makes for some occasionally dark content. He has been described as being very persuasive, charming and smooth. It would be a lie to say he has not used his dashing charm and wit on women in the past, though he has received no complaints thus far. His vast talents in telepathy make him a daunting adversary, as much as it makes him an indispensable ally. His radiant positivity makes him easily befriended, and is near blindly devoted to those he cares about. He holds very few secrets, and hides very few things from those he is close with. It’s no secret why his parents are comatose in a hospital, but he avoids the topic outright.
HISTORY:
A Los Angeles child, born under the Californian sun, Zander came into a somewhat wealthy family. Growing up, his father was often on business trips, so he bonded more with his mother. It was not to be mistaken that his father and he were estranged, they still loved and cared about each other, and Zander understood from an early age that his father’s job required him to travel, but naturally with his mother there to help fill the gap, he grew up much closer to her. He had a relatively normal childhood, besides his father being away for most of it, until an application finally got approved, allowing his father to work closer to home. Finally, his father was less of a stranger. He did the usual teenager stuff, go to parties, surf on the weekends, and spend time with friends. He was an above-average student, never quite driven enough to make it to the top, so school was not a complete and utter nightmare.
It was his sixteenth birthday, his father made sure to take time off to celebrate with them. He kept it simple, as most of his friends were abroad on vacation, settling on going out to lunch and relaxing the afternoon away. That very night, was when he got the cosmic slap to the face, things awakening in him that were not there before. Get your mind out of the gutter, his new-found psychic abilities had manifested. He used what the internet could offer, but in the end, decided it was better to keep it hidden, to repress it. This was his fatal error, since without control, his power controlled him. A dream put him in his parents’ room, doing unspeakable things to them. He awoke in the middle of the night, relieved to think that it was some horrible nightmare. The daylight brought cruel reality, when his parents were unresponsive in bed, and signs of his presence in the room were everywhere.
A call to 911 later, he sat in the room with his unconscious parents. It dawned on him that it was a vision, a warning he should have taken note of, and he did not. Now his parents were comatose, and it was his fault. He wanted nothing more than to just vanish, fade away, to make it all go away, but that was not the Zander that Maria and Vincent Cooke raised. He made it to the end of high school, religiously visiting his parents every weekend. It was on one particular visit, on his 19th birthday, that he received the invitation to an organization, Verum Venatores, who would be able to teach him what his power meant and how to control it. On the condition of being allowed to visit his parents, he took the offer and left for Europe. They did more than expected; as hunters, they exposed him to the supernatural, and while having some training in the different factions, his psychic nature landed him in psychology. It was there he learned that he was primarily a telepath, but expressed clairvoyance to an extent. This meant he had a certain capacity to enter and manipulate the mind, and even predict the future. He found control in meditation and yoga mostly, giving clarity to his mind. He would never hurt anyone like that again.
Being one of the hunters in line to be leader of a faction, he accompanied the head hunters to Beacon Hills, nostalgia, rampant at returning to California. They were there to deal with the Demon Wolf, Deucalion, and his pack of Alphas. They were horribly underprepared, all leaders were massacred by the pack, and they had to retreat to recover. This was how Zander, and his colleagues Romeo, Nico and Jude, became the new leaders. While they licked their wounds, they got word of a pack, run by a True Alpha named Scott McCall. Their plans changed when they were receiving word of a power, very similar to the Nogitsune they primarily hunt, Beacon Hills became their new home, as they monitored the situation, and tried to determine if the McCall pack would prove to be allies or adversaries.
